Local extensions
Unlimited number of local phone extensions (normally using IP phones). Phones can be real physical phones, IP based or analog phones. They can also be softphones using software running on desktop PC’s with the addition of headsets or USB phone handsets.
Remote extensions
Use IP phones (SIP and IAX2) as remote extensions connected using broadband over the internet. Softphones on a PC can also be used as remote extensions for example when in a hotel, or on a Wifi hotspot. Extensions have the same functions as local phone extensions.
Comprehensive voicemail
Configured for each extension as required. Messages can be automatically forwarded by email, if required.
Many incoming and outgoing trunk options
VoIP trunks using SIP and IAX2 protocols.
ISDN, E1 and T1 trunks.
Incoming numbers - UK and International
A wide range of incoming numbers can be obtained for many counties. These can be linked to your PBX so that you can have a virtual presence in other Cities, Countries and Continents.
Low cost calling
Using Voip trunks over the Internet. Some Voip trunks allow free calls under some circumstances.
Sophisticated dial plan options
Ring groups, with ring all, ring in turn, hunting etc.
Queues with various options.
Followme - just like a mini ring group, but it’s tied directly to your extension. It’s configured exactly the same way as a ring group, including the ability to use an announcement to alert people that they’re being transferred elsewhere.
Phone numbers can be setup that call a mobile phone or a PSTN number outside the PBX. These “virtual extensions” can be added into the dial plan so that calls originating in the softPBX are routed to off site.
Speed dial
Using preconfigured and user defined speed dial numbers.
Full call logging
Web based tools to review and search the call detail records of previous calls made and received through the PBX.
Digital receptionist
The digital receptionist or IVR (interactive voice response), is a phone technology that allows a computer to detect touch tones using a normal phone call. Allows incoming caller to interact with the PBX menu and route their calls to destinations / endpoints in your PBX without the need for a live receptionist. This can be very simple, 1 for Sales, 2 for Support, or can be complex and the menus can be many levels deep.
Time conditions
A feature that allows the incoming routing of calls to be modified on the basis of the time of day, and day of the week, month etc. Typically, this changes the response that a caller gets between office hours and out of office hours.
Custom voice files
Local languages can be easily integrated to the PBX. Wide range of options, UK English, US English, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, South African etc. Most voice artists also record custom messages so that your IVR menus can have voice files in the same dialect. Male and female voices are available in most languages. You can also easily record your own voice files and add these into your system.
Parking calls
Call transfer options allow calls can be parked and picked up.
Call recording
Music on Hold (MoH)
Music files already included. Custom music files can be uploaded.
Dictation service
This lets users record dictation into their phones. When complete, the dictations can be emailed to an address specified in the phone extension setup page. Each phone extension can be independently setup as required.
Conference Calls
Multiple conference calls are possible. Local phones and external calls can share the same conference. Range of conference call options, pin numbers, announcements, conference control, etc.

Suitable dial-plan configuration allows phones in on the various servers to appear as a consolidated office PBX. In other words local dialing across all the trixbox servers.
